The Anato-Bee is seeking educators at colleges, universities, and high schools in each state to encourage their students to become involved in their local competition. There is no financial or major time requirement to get involved!
Below you can find a simple guide on what it takes to open a local chapter.
To become a local chapter organizer, you must be an educator at a college or university. High school educators may not form a local chapter, but other ways to get involved are listed below on this page. Participating local institutions must be able to host their virtual competition on Saturday, January 25, 2025 via ZOOM. Start times will be synchronized across U.S. time zones so the virtual competitions occur simultaneously.
More information will be provided upon completion of the application.
We recommend recruiting students from at least 3 high schools to compete in your local competition. Participating local institutions may also be connected with individuals or high schools that complete our interest form.
We recommend recruiting assistants (faculty, students, staff, etc.) to help facilitate your competition, as multiple virtual proctors may be needed to ensure academic integrity.
Top-placing student(s) will be invited to compete in their respective regional Anato-Bee competition.
We thank you in advance for your investment in the next generation of anatomists. If you have questions or concerns regarding local chapter initiation or its responsibilities, please contact us.
The Anato-Bee thanks you for your service in educating the next generation of young academics.
There are several ways in which you may become involved in the Anato-Bee:
1. Encourage your students to register for the local Anato-Bee competition. In addition to improving all students' foundational knowledge of the anatomical sciences, winners of the regional Anato-Bee will receive national recognition, research opportunities, and funding.
2. Offer time to review anatomical concepts and relationships. You are encouraged to assist in the preparation efforts of your students using the recommended study materials published on our website. This is not a required responsbility of high school educators. We will provide all registered participants with opportunities for virtual tutoring provided by medical students. Scheduled sessions will be posted on the website at the end of September 2023.
3. Offer to proctor students during the local competition. If students in your area are limited by inadequate internet or are unable to have a parent/guardian present during the competition, you may host your students at your school. If you are helping in this way, please be prepared to have an adult visible in each student's ZOOM camera frame.
